Cherry getting fired has been so contentious.

Even at work today some people supported the firing whiling others despised it.

Top water cooler talk for sure. Just about everyone seems to have a fairly strong opinion on it.

It is nice to see people getting passionate about something. Far too many subdued opinions on key issues in this society.

Literally haven't seen no white person wearing a poppy in real life (not TV). Literally zero.

I'm sure it's the same for lots of other people in different areas of the country.

If you think not respecting and remembering our veterans is only or mainly an immigrant thing you either live under a rock or you're racist/xenophobic and it's about as simple as that. Cherry being these things isn't news, and anyone arguing that he isn't is just kidding themselves. We've known what he is for decades and we've let it go.

I asked my redneck manager about it, who is in general a really good guy, but I knew he'd side with Cherry.

He argued that people misunderstood his point and he wasn't targeting immigrants even though it was pretty damn clear AND he didn't apologize for it lmao. I didn't even bother arguing.

For what it's worth, I'm the kid of immigrants and I wouldn't have cared if he was fired or not. Nothing a senile old man on TV says is gonna offend me lol.

I personally feel people should worry less about Cherry. He is gone, I am thankful, lets move forward. He will live. He owns a restaurant line, unless that went under. Dude will live. We will too.
