Goaltender Kari Lehtonen, the Stars’ MVP for the past two seasons, injured his groin in the first period Friday against the Vancouver Canucks and did not return to the game.

He is listed as day-to-day and will be re-evaluated Saturday.

The Detroit Red Wings have put forward Johan Franzen on injured reserve. They also removed goaltender Jonas Gustavsson from IR and assigned him to Grand Rapids of the AHL on a conditioning loan.

Franzen has missed Detroit's last two games with a hip injury.

Gustavsson was signed by the Red Wings in July and has appeared in one game for them this season. He's been out with a groin injury.
