Last two years are meaningless. They played with urgency the last two years. Would love to see them keep the streak going but no sane fan thinks they've got even the most remote chance at a cup. The streak lost its importance three or more years ago, the last time anyone thought they had a legit chance.

If I'm Boston and get knocked out because New York rests their stars and all ottawa changes was slotting some prospects into their bottom six to see them play, I'd be pissed.

I find it stupid that people are rooting for a number to go from 24 to 25 when the wings clearly need a major shakeup. If it had been 25 years of first or second round exits it would be nothing to be proud of.
This team does not have it in them to win a cup. They are an annual first-or-second round exit team until something changes - if they continue to make playoffs, that is.

The fanbase should want a cup. Rooting to barely make it into playoffs more or less by default because the Bruins shat the bed is silly.
