Game vs. Phoenix:
- Relatively even through the first two periods, not much happening 5-on-5. We were the better team and got the lead but then naturally took the foot off the gas in the third. Torts was not happy

- Booth played decent individually, but I still don't think he fits with the Sedins; they want to play a patient cycle game whereas Booth likes to play off the rush and take everything to the net.

- Higgins and Santorelli are doing a good job creating chances with their hustle, speed and hard work on the boards.

- The 3rd line has been okay, not amazing but they seem to have a little chemistry. Weise is playing well for the first time in his career, IMO lol. The 4th line hasn't had an impact but they weren't a defensively liability so Torts was able to play them for 6 or 7 minutes.

- Luongo was very sharp (other than a couple iffy rebounds) until Vermette scored, which was a bad goal in my mind. He couldn't do much on the 2nd goal against, but he didn't really make any big saves all game. Another average outing.

- Power-play still rolling along. I like how teeing up Garrison is their primary option now. Teams will eventually have to respect him more and that'll open things down low for the Sedins.

- Alberts was okay in his return to the lineup. He only played 6 minutes so it's hard to really judge his play. He did however make a bad pinch that led to a 2-on-1 against, probably why he didn't get much time.

Agree with all of this. Well said. I expected Alberts to be a liability, but he was not for the most part.

How many times have the Canucks blown a shutout in the last minute of a game?
Seems like a lot :(

Thats fucking insane, but i'd like to see a source haha.

They asked Lu how he felt about Roy pulling the goalie with 5 mins left in a 3-0 game.

"They're doing it because they're trying to win or because Patty doesn't want me to tie his record [for shutouts in a career]"

When they told Roy what he said.

"Theres no worries there, he'll pass that for sure. Might be a long haul for the wins though..."

lol, shots fired. Roy has less than 200 more wins than Luongo. Barring injury or a significant decline, Luongo should be able to match that in 5 seasons... although he would be 39 by then.

Someone read that stat off twitter and sent it to me, so no source. But as Canucks fans, we shouldn't even be surprised. Seems like it happens to Luongo 3-4 times a season.

Game vs. 'Rado:

- First 15 minutes were pretty bad, we were lucky to be up by 1 going into the 2nd, probably could have/should have been down by 2 instead. Luongo made a few key saves and they missed the net on a few chances. The 2nd period was brutal from a pace standpoint: so many icings, off-sides and other stoppages. The Canucks did a good job of grabbing control of the game in 3rd period, unlike last game.

- Luongo was solid. I wouldn't say he was amazing or anything but very good. Well, up until the last 10 seconds  he has nobody but himself to blame on that one.

- Higgins and Santorelli continue to be our best forwards and Kesler is playing well, too (he even made 2 really nice passes, which fills up his quota for the month). The Sedins, who had Hansen on their wing, had some good O-zone time but didn't create many chances.

- When we went up 3-0, Torts was able to give the 4th liners some more ice-time but when Roy pulled his goalie with 5 minutes left, Torts shortened the bench again. He put the 4th line out for the very last shift and wouldn't you know it lol. Dalpe made a few nice plays during the game but left his slot assignment giving Colorado a 3-on-2 down low and they capitalized.

Right back at it tonight as the Canes visit town. Manny makes his return.

In other news, I have Luongo and Garrison in my pool. Lost the potential shutout points, lost points for the goal against and Garrison was on the ice, lost points for that minus.

On top of that, I forgot to do my lineup, so Parise and his 2 goals, +2, 3 shots and 1 hit were on my bench :(
