The roster players Canucks fans are willing to trade (Booth, Kassian, Schroeder) have next to no value. We won't get a legit top-6 forward for these guys.

And we can't afford to lose the roster players that do have value.

One option would be trading one of our top prospects or high draft picks, but based on our current team, selling the future seems like a bad idea.

The last option, which many have already suggested, is trade Edler. I really don't want to do this, many D-men really come into their own after they hit 30 (Lidstrom didn't win a Norris trophy til 31). But when it comes to real value, we could get a proven top-4 or 5 forward for Eddy.

Not a fan of this route. I'd rather have a shitty team and wait for guys like Horvat and Shinkaruk to develop than give Edler away :P We desperately need a top-6 forward, and it would definitely create a balance, but it doesn't put us over the top by any means.

And what kind of player would you be looking for in return? For that package

The thing is, we don't have the depth to fork up what would be asked for a top 6.

Booth is almost a MUST due to cap hit which is quite unfortunate. We're not in a position to be giving away anymore draft picks anymore..

I feel like we're just a better calgary.

Edler out indefinitely :(

Alberts will take his spot alongside Garrison. I thought maybe they'd move Bieksa up to create a real top pairing but I guess they don't want to disrupt another tandem.

Forward lines will be the same as they were at the end of the last game.

Big 4 point game against Phoenix. If there's one team we'll beat out for that 8th spot, it's probably them (barring Colorado doesn't come back down to earth).

Hell ya we needed that win, disappointed it was a forced OT game though. Still a win is a win, I'll take it!

No kidding! The building went pretty quiet when they tied it up.
We're so good at throwing away 3rd period leads :(
Finally Garrison got a PPG too.

time to pick up the pace, and go on a winning streak though ... it's getting closer and closer to the now or never point to salvage the season without the worries of being a bottom feeding playoff team

Game vs. Phoenix:
- Relatively even through the first two periods, not much happening 5-on-5. We were the better team and got the lead but then naturally took the foot off the gas in the third. Torts was not happy

- Booth played decent individually, but I still don't think he fits with the Sedins; they want to play a patient cycle game whereas Booth likes to play off the rush and take everything to the net.

- Higgins and Santorelli are doing a good job creating chances with their hustle, speed and hard work on the boards.

- The 3rd line has been okay, not amazing but they seem to have a little chemistry. Weise is playing well for the first time in his career, IMO lol. The 4th line hasn't had an impact but they weren't a defensively liability so Torts was able to play them for 6 or 7 minutes.

- Luongo was very sharp (other than a couple iffy rebounds) until Vermette scored, which was a bad goal in my mind. He couldn't do much on the 2nd goal against, but he didn't really make any big saves all game. Another average outing.

- Power-play still rolling along. I like how teeing up Garrison is their primary option now. Teams will eventually have to respect him more and that'll open things down low for the Sedins.

- Alberts was okay in his return to the lineup. He only played 6 minutes so it's hard to really judge his play. He did however make a bad pinch that led to a 2-on-1 against, probably why he didn't get much time.
