She was called a whore by a person who almost immediately got the shit kicked out of him. The characters in the movie had a clearly sexist nature but nowhere was that portrayed as good or even okay. Even starlord was pointed to as a douchebag until like 25 minutes before the end.

I know you're capable of inferring more than just this in the entire movie. It's sexist.

There was a clear existence of females being loose and whores, and yet the hero of the movie was cool in large part due to him taking advantage of that. Yet, the chick he ended up with wasn't one of those whores, but was called that all the same and he didn't deserve her. It's just really fucking stupid and not something that young people should have pounded into their heads as being 'okay'. Kids take things very literally and innocently, and that kind of stuff at a young age paves the way for their entire perspective on reality. This was definitively a family a movie, and one that is extremely sexist as well as religious. I'm sure 98% of the people that like it are christians, sexists, or both. Or dirtyman.

She was called a whore because people are asshats. The characters who called her that are clearly portrayed as bad asshats you don't want to be like. If your kid sees that and says "that dude has a point" it's a much deeper problem than the movie.

Is it a staple of equality? No. But you have to really be looking for sexism to find it here.

They were both portrayed as assholes to start. Chris Pratt was a zero honor mercenary what was trying to screw over his boss. Bautista was an offensive emotionless guy with terrible social skills. Each of them reached a turning point (Bautista after he fucked up royally, Chris Pratt after Bautista fucked up royally, seriously Bautista what the fuck?) and Chris Pratt was no longer a lazy jackass with no values and became much more positively showcased once he started to actually give a shit. It was a clear case of "everything up to now has been douchy, and now he's good from here on out." Bautista is still a d-bag but they made it more than obvious that no one liked him and it was out of the ordinary to be like that.

they made it out of the ordinary that some piece of shit could just screw any girl he wants, and then suddenly he meets some chick who blows him out of the water by doing something so simple as not just being his sextoy and he's enamoured with her. He gets her because he's cool as fuck (in "men's eyes".) Not only is that very unrealistic, but it's extremely sexist. The only reason he was even a saving grace in the movie is because his mom gave him some cool tunes. Come on.

Agree to disagree. You think it was portrayed as cool, I think it was portrayed as him being a piece of shit. It's not until he learns respect and starts to believe in something bigger than himself that he's seen as a good guy.

Obviously they didn't do it that well if there's such a large divide in opinion on the matter
