Wings arent even really after the Flyers anymore.

More so boston.

Why play the Caps when you can play the Panthers.

That being said if the Pens do a number on the Flyers in their 2 remaining games it wouldnt hurt ;)

Wings just need to win out and they are 100% in. More likely they need to go 3-1-1 and not have one of those 2 loses come at the hands of the bruins

Easier said then done
Especially when we are losing to teams that aren't even playing for a playoff spot

Honestly, its either you or the bruins that will miss

Both teams arent playing great at the moment and wings are constantly playing with fire (they had 2 huge comebacks recently)

Also playing vs boston and philly, I see both of these teams winning

Boston hasn't done any better :P

The important thing for the Wings is that we control our destiny. If they win out, they're in. I know it's slim considering the way the team has been playing, but I also remember a few years ago when the Wings won like 5 of their last 6 games (while Toronto tanked their last 15 games) and swept into a playoff spot out of no where.

It's probably not the best thing for our team to have them make the playoffs and be dumped in round 1, again. But I would still love to see them go up against Florida or Tampa. I think the Wings are always an interesting playoff team. Even last year, everyone was talking about how Tampa was going to sweep the Wings and our team almost took them out.

I think Detroit can make it in. The important thing is to beat Boston. The rest has a lot to do with if the Bruins can turn their ship around

Flyers have tough game vs the caps. I am just gonna go out on a limb and say if they win tonight I feel like our chances are very good to make it and you guys are looking at Boston.
Then again everyone on this forum would probably prefer Boston to lose out so good luck!!!

Few thoughts, tonight was a good game but there were still some telling things -

- 1st line PP looks fantastic, but Mantha should not be making drop passes on the 2nd line for the cycle. I get that we want him to play a full game but with his current skillset, he's a shooter. There were a couple instances where his pass worked but the velocity was too low so the other team was able to set up for the rest of the play.
- Wasn't on the Ericsson hate train until recently, he lost a LOT of one on one battles against smaller players that he could have won by putting a shoulder into them, glad to see he was the lowest ice time among defensemen tonight.
- Related to the above, Blash has gotten a lot of flack for not adjusting but at least for the past 10-ish games, he's been fully willing to throttle ice time for guys who are sucking during the game. In TBL-DET, Kronner and Ericsson played the fewest minutes when they fucked up for the first two goals
- Nyquist is not fitting in. Abby-Z-Larkin is fantastic. Tatar-Sheahan is fantastic. Nyquist isn't working with either Z or Sheahan, but he's absolutely a top-6 player worth his contract and should be given an opportunity elsewhere if someone offers good value.

If they miss playoffs I'm not too bummed because they've been playing like a bubble team. The streak is only significant if the team gets cheated out of it somehow, like the 69-70 Habs.

Would not agree that there needs to be a culture change like a lot of people say, since it's only a matter of time that they hit the lottery on late round forwards rather than defensemen.
