Game vs. San Jose

- Pretty much did everything right except score on our chances. Played well defensively, had a lot of puck possession and offensive zone time, just couldn't finish.

- Nothing out of the Sedins for the 5th straight game. Burrows will likely start with them against Dallas.

- Luongo was good but got stuck pushing across on the game winner, giving Boyle a ton of time to hit the open net. Really needed a save there, bad goalie mechanics :P

- 2nd line dominant again possession wise but Higgins and Burrows continue to choke on their chances.

- 3rd line of Booth - Richardson - Kassian was okay, nothing great. Kassian set up Booth in front with a beautiful pass early in the game but Booth missed the net.

- The power-play scored our only goal but it's still not looking that good.

These were the lines at practice but Torts said he might still change it up:
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Higgins - Kesler - Hansen
Booth - Santorelli - Kassian
Sestito - Richardson - Welsh

I would LOVE to see a Matt Moulson esque player come to vancouver before deadline..

We need someone new in the line up that's a scorer.

Sedins are washed up. Not to say they can't get it done, but tricks are only tricks for so long. I just want a guy who knows how to score and knows how to do it a lot. Someone who can make each shot count. Seems like every bloody chance we get whoever shoots can't seem to hit the net whether it means life or death.

Game vs. Dallas
- Once again we were the better team but couldn't finish on our chances to get the W. Don't want to use the botched "no goal" call as an excuse; should have won regardless.

- The Sedins (and by extension, the power-play) were better today but not amazing. Funny how it's such a thin line between a magical play and a completely awful play. Henrik missing that spin pass on a 2-on-1 looked brutal but if connected, it would have been on all the highlight shows.

- Don't think I liked the new line combos, and Torts said he might make changes. Before the season I was in favor of a Higgins - Kesler - Hansen 2nd line but now it seems like Kesler really needs to be on the wing. Still wish we Torts would put Kassian with the Sedins, would create more depth.

- I thought Luongo was great, he made several timely saves on odd-man rushes. Team defence wasn't as solid as it has been but we definitely had more scoring chances than the Stars.

Clutch scoring and skill around the net in general has been our tangible Achilles heel for several years now and it's magnified in the playoffs where goals are a lot tougher to get.

It's not a secret that we've desperately need proven top-6 forwards, especially after the '11 cup run, but they are extremely hard to come by and MG already said he doesn't want to overpay at the deadline with picks and prospects for rental players anymore.

So I guess we have to stick with what we have and hope someone like Kassian or Schroeder can really take a huge step in their development. I think at this point we know what we're going to get from our core forwards like the Sedins, Burrows, Kesler, Higgins and Hansen... their production obviously won't get the job done.

Booth healthy scratched again lol. Weise back from injury to take his spot.

Looks like a Sestito - Welsh - Weise 4th line and Richardson moving up. No details out on the top-9 but might be different than last game.

Just put Kassian with the Sedins already instead of making him play his off-wing. Put Burrows there on left-wing, he has experience :P

Game vs. Columbus
- Much better game than last, but that isn't saying much. Not completely solid defensively, but tons of offense when it comes to goals, chances, zone-time and puck-possession. Finally rewarded for playing well.

- The Sedins started the game on different lines but were quickly reunited with Kesler on their right-wing. Higgins - Santorelli - Burrows made up the 2nd line with Richardson centering Hansen and Kassian on the 3rd.

- Luongo didn't really do much but there wasn't too much sustained action in our defensive zone.

- Power-play looked much better as a result of the Sedins having a good game. Good puck movement and plays around the net, we were kind of unlucky not to pot one 5-on-4.

- 4th line wasn't great but weren't a liability defensively. Torts was able to give them more ice-time than usual with a comfortable lead in the 3rd period which was important because we have a big back-to-back game tonight against Chicago.

- Kassian made some nice plays but some dummy plays, as well. Booth was a healthy scratch once again. We really need these two guys playing well if we want to be an impact team this year.

Luongo might start again.

Also I'm anticipating the two powerhouse lines being matched up against each other tonight: Sedin - Sedin - Kesler vs. Sharp - Toews - Hossa
