Much has been made of the Bruins’ concerns with Tyler Seguin‘s after-hours activities in his days with the B’s, and the Boston Herald had a pretty interesting tidbit Friday.

According to veteran beat writer Steve Harris, the Bruins ordered Seguin to live in a hotel during the postseason, where they had a hired guard to make sure the 21-year-old didn’t leave.

From Harris:

It apparently got so bad that during the playoffs, the Bruins ordered Seguin to live in a hotel, where a guard was hired to make sure he stayed in his room.

It is widely believed that Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli spoke to Seguin about his off-ice choices during the first round of the playoffs against the Maple Leafs. Chiarelli publicly criticized Seguin’s professionalism last weekend at the NHL draft before trading the young scorer to the Stars on Thursday.

The majority of my school time was in Texas. I'm not a douchebag.

That's a little different.

Not saying otherwise. Just saying it's Texas..who wants to live there? Besides douchebags.

To the rest of you. I don't know how you can like this trade. The kid is fucking 21. With Horton gone it would have given him an opportunity to actually play the way he wants with Krejci and Lucic. Just a waste of a talent. Like I told Japrone, I hope he scores 120+ goals and wins 5 more cups throughout his career. And I am not even a big fan of his. Just think he could have been awesome for the Bruins.

The kids has been a fucking plug. He has had his chances and has been moved around a lot and he still managed not put up anything offensively. If the kid actually produced this playoffs, we would of won the cup.

Erikson WILL provide more points. Erikson is an extremely underrated player. Peverely can easily be replaced. We cleared up 4M cap space and got a really good defensive prospect + 2 others.

How can you NOT like this trade.

Trade him while he's worth something.

BUT HES A YOUNG TALENT. THE SMART GUYS AT ESPN SAY HE WILL BE GOOD SO KEEP HIM ON ROSTER UNTIL HE IS GOOD.

People expect every pick to work perfectly, this was a great trade.
if we keep him another year and he sucks it up and has the same off ice prblems no one would want him and we'd be fucked.

You could clearly see how much talent he had by watching him. Sure, he tried to do a lot by himself and sure he had his off ice problems, but he's 21 and was playing on the 3rd line. He should have been playing with Krejci and Lucic. That line would have been so much better with Seguin instead of Horton. When I saw they weren't resigning Horton I creamed myself at the thought of Seguin being on that line. But we will never see how well he can play in Boston. The Bruins fucked this kid up. I hope he proves all you morons wrong.

And, again, I cannot emphasize this enough..I was not a big fan of Seguin.

Also, Ritchey, please for the love of god don't ever say "the smart guys at espn". I know you're joking but still. Stop.

Obviously I used them as an example of how stupid espn is.
What do you mean never saw what he can do? He had 3 years to show us and it was dissapointing to say the least.

They needed to lock him in his room. He was clearly out of control and not focused. If that's what you want in a championship contenders locker room then you sir are the moron.

I'm fine with the trade ..

he was out of control and had problems off ice .. I wouldn't be surprised if other players in the locker room had a problem with the shit he was doin

Bruins had to hire a guard to keep him in his room...

If he grows up and gets his shit together he will be a ppg

He just doesn't work well with us. It sucks, because he's clearly talented.

3 years wow. 2 of which he wasn't legal to fucking drink. The guy is 21..obviously he's going to want to party. I can guarantee part of his problem was the way the Bruins handled him. Trying to turn him into something he is not on the ice. If they weren't so busy trying to turn him into a defensive forward maybe he would have performed better and wouldn't have been such a problem off the ice.
