omg this is so fucking clown fiesta :rofl:
So i had an easy trip from 7 in the morning to 12:15pm on 24th, and stayed at hotel since. Our union contract pays us starting from 9th hour, and we can be held away from home max of 14hours to get called back to work. They completely forgot about us past 14hours (02:15am) basically they finally realized around 3pm we are still here chillin. I made few calls to get their shit together and the manger + crew caller were both doing their thing, never called me back. So since we were on OT pay since 2:15am and made enough dough playing games/watching canucks and all other shit all day at the hotel, i called the crew caller for a damn update and she says earliest the cab can make it is 10:30pm.
Then my coworkers from today finished their shift, and came into our hotel, and she's like oh btw there was a cab waiting for you since 5pm at the yard station. :rofl:

tldr; company is paying for 2 cabs, 1 idling since 5pm and 1 taking us 150miles back to our home + made more money today chilling at hotel than actual work from the morning before

yeah it's CN Railway, you'd figure a fucking billion dollar company would at least be able to get competent management employees, but nope.
they waste A LOT of money due to poor decisions, and the fact that they still make millions in net income is astonishing.
I swear if they got competent people to manage, CN would boost in revenue without changing anything else.
I think they just give 0 fucks because it's not their own money they're wasting, but the company.

im sure all railway companies are mismanaged af, i swear they probably bet money who can manage their company worse lol
I can list a lot more hilarious shit they do almost every day but that would take dayz.

You've probably already figured this out by now but RR's are in there own little world. It's a job like no other literally. Every time people ask me about it and I explain a few things they're always like wtf lol

haha yeah, agreed. I hold the record in western canada pulling ~19,900 ft train on the mainline, which im sure is illegal as fuck. New trainmaster at the time fucked up hard, making us take the entire loop track when i tried to say that doesn't sound right. He thought our crew was just trying to fuck him over and cut work or something lol. The SBU was literally beside our lead unit of this giant loop track, the train was about 4 miles long :rofl:
He was quick to try blame the yard crew that tied on more shit to our train, he couldnt even attempt to get us because we warned and also asked if he is sure about this like 10 times. Eventually he blamed the previous on duty trainmaster. That senior trainmaster swept this shit under the rug like nothing ever happened cuz it was their mistake, but i swear if it was yard or our crew's mistake they would be jerking each other off and jizzz over the statement
