I'm fine with it.
I doubt their game will change much over the years.
I can't see them going under 65 points per season even towards the end.
Their game isn't based on speed so slowing down, if at all possible, won't make a difference.

His shooting % must blow.

Game vs. Toronto

- We played a very good complete game, one of our better efforts of a year. Excellent job showing the easterners that the Nucks are still top dog in Canada. :D

- Sedins, Luongo and Bieksa keep rolling on as our top players. Garrison hasn't been a factor offensively in a while now but still effective in his own end.

- Defense as a whole was solid, Luongo made the 2 or 3 hard saves he needed to make. Tanev and Stanton still impressive as our #5 and #6 guys respectively.

Not much else to say except our powerplay is now officially abysmal. Couldn't generate much on full 5-on-3 and we were 1-9 total (didn't score on the last 8 after scoring on the very first one).

And then when Torts tried to change it up near the end, it became worse... if that's even possible. Garrison was put on left D, where his one-timer is moot, and he kept trying to go backdoor. You'd think they'd know from last year when Edler tried that play for the entire season that this play is next to impossible because there is no passing angle.

We definitely need a right-hander on the left point now; it can be Bieksa, Santorelli, Weber, Kassian or even Kesler with Burrows in front. A right-hander makes the backdoor play dangerous and it'll give us a one-timer option from both sides.

That was just the Sen's retarded owner. Also this one didn't look as bad 'cause Kassian's foot wasn't as high, wasn't as much of a stomping motion.

-------

Well you also said Santorelli was trash in general but he's been like one of our better players since day 1 lol. Assuming he'll come back down to earth, though.

-------

The problem with Garrison is that he's a left-hander and so are the setup men (Sedins), so they control the puck on the right side but Garrison is on the right point, you can't really make a one-timer pass that way.

If you look at teams like Montreal and Washington, their trigger is on the left point while the team controls the puck on the right.

Probably the best thing to do would be work the 1-3-1 powerplay with:
- Kesler playing the Subban/Ovechkin role
- Garrison up top
- Henrik on the right boards, his usual spot
- Daniel in the corner/beside the net, his usual spot
- Kassian or Hansen in the slot/screen guy (because it works best if it's a right-hander)

Sedins can make cross-zone one-timer passes to Kesler or pass to the slot guy and Kesler and Garrison can set each other up for one-timers.

Game in Phoenix:

- Pretty tight game, not much either way. Kind of what you'd expect from a game against the Coyotes. They are excellent defensively and on the back-check and Smith thwarts most dump and chase attempts. Also, both their transition and offensive zone passing is accurate and efficient; a very sound team overall.

- Didn't generate as many chances as we'd like to (don't think we had a a legit 5-on-5 scoring chance til midway through the 3rd period) but didn't give up much either. The game was pretty much a toss-up, and with our shootout history, not a surprise the way it ended up. lol henrik ofc

- We suggested it after the Leafs game, and Torts gets it done: 1-3-1 powerplay with Kesler on the left point and Burrows in front. The only thing wrong with it was Hamhuis up top instead of Garrison, puzzling to say the least considering he doesn't have much of a shot and definitely isn't a "PP QB".

Canucks are 6-3-1 when giving up the first goal.

Game in San Jose:

- Awesome effort last night by the entire team. Lots of hard work to create offensive zone time and scoring chances, solid execution.

- Pretty good defensive effort against arguably the best offensive team in the league. Obviously it wasn't perfect, but that's impossible to do vs. the Sharks. Luongo made about 4-5 good or great saves and he couldn't do much on the two goals against, so his solid play rolls on.

- Bieksa made the first mistake I've noticed from him in the last like 10 games (Sharks 2nd goal) but other than that, he's still playing great.

- Don't know what the hell is going on the power-play still, and it seems like the players on the ice don't know either  Don't know what's up with all the weird setups, on the first PP the Sedins were playing on the left side of the ice with Kesler on the right point.

- The second line of Higgins / Santorelli / Burrows and third line of Archibald - Richardson - Kassian lines seem to have gained some chemistry. The former has looked good for several games now, the latter may have just had a good night, we'll have to wait and see.

Back-to-backs against LA and Anaheim on the weekend. I would guess that Lack plays on saturday against the Kings and Luongo gets Anaheim on sunday as they are very hot right now, and the division leaders.
