Santa definitely deserves it by the way he has been playing but I think it creates a better balance the way I suggested it. Santa is versatile enough to be effective anywhere right now.

Kassian isn't really fit for a third line role and save for his first game, he's been pretty decent. Scored a goal, had one wrongfully disallowed, a few more good chances, many good passes, some decent shifts protecting the puck. Pretty good for a guy who was playing with a LW that just got healthy scratched for sucking.

I just think that if Kassian can find some real chemistry with the Sedins (needs several games for this) it can be something special. He can play their puck protection game and go to the net while also adding some grit/toughness to the mix.



I hate our bottom 6 Weise is awful. Won't look so bad when we're 100% healthy though.

Definitely wasn't high on the Richardson signing but the way he has played so far, he hasn't made me miss Lappy good defensively and obviously not useless offensively.

Game in New Jersey:

- Well if the game on the Island was just "an off game in the middle of a long road-trip"... I don't know what the hell that was. Saying we got lucky leaving with those 2 points would be a massive understatement. I guess Schneider really wanted to help his own team lol I think we had like 1 scoring chance all game.

- Weise and Booth both get injured, we were down to 9 forwards for the 2nd half of the game and when you have to regularly play Sestito in a close game, you're in trouble. Pelletier and Archibald have been called up but that still leaves us with 11 forwards. I guess Torts really likes playing with 7D.

- I thought that was Santorelli's weakest game, outside of the nice shootout goal, of course. He missed his assignment on the first goal against.

- Bieksa might be our best player on this road trip.

- God have mercy on our souls against the Blues lol. STL is well rested and the Canucks' gas tank is beyond empty.

5-1-1 on that roadtrip.

5-1-1 for that relatively grueling trip is awesome Last two games definitely weren't very pretty entertainment wise, but still a great job, especially considering the roster circumstances.

Boys put in an impressive gutsy performance in the last game. St. Louis didn't play well but they are still one of the better teams in the league and it was the Canucks' 7th game of the road trip in a back-to-back situation. On top of that, we had like 5 regular forwards injured; 4th line consisted of two AHLers and an extra D-man and the 3rd line was made up of two 4th liners and a useless goon

Burrows should be back tomorrow (I think) so that'll give us a boost.

One thing that needs to be worked on right now is the powerplay. Still think they should look to setup Garrison first, instead of a last resort situation.

Forecheck is better and we sit back less.

I like the PP personnel for the most part but the strategy doesn't seem quite right.



One thing I don't like is fronting instead of boxing out in front of the net. But maybe our players will get better at it as time goes on.

Game vs. Washington

- Offense played well today for sure but I don't know if that's saying much considering we played a loose team with bad goaltending in Washington

- Lots of big defensive gaffs, Edler and Hamhuis got walked cleanly once each. Several missed assignments, mostly on the rush, but I guess the Caps do have the firepower.

- Luongo and Bieksa (besides the dumb penalty) played well again.

- Sedins and Kesler obviously on fire, looks like they'll stay together as the chemistry is growing.

- PP is definitely looking good but zero luck around the net, did all the right things. I guess I'll worry about them not scoring on it when we start to lose lol.

- Still wonder why in the holy fuck Sestito was re-signed, especially after games like today where he was nothing but a liability. Can't skate, can't shoot, can't pass, can't puck-handle, can't defend and can't fight.
