If you get a luxury car right off the bat you can drive it for 6 months and then sell it for as much as you paid for it.
My buddy's dad does this with the Mercedes that come out.
He got the SLS, drove it for 6 months, and then sold it. 1st one off the boat/line in Western Canada. lol

Depends how you go about fixing your problems.
eg: An oil change is an oil change unless you bring it back to your dealer who charges you 10x more than a local garage.
The only place where you would be correct is services. I'm not sure how much say a Mazda is to service, but we just brought in my mom's GLK (Merc) and it cost $400. I'd assume a service on any car would be atleast $100 though.
