There are specific tolerances for this

Most AWD systems need the wheels to be the same size. You can and will cause major damage to your car if you don't. That being said a manufacturer can create an awd system (like "sports cars") that is designed to have wheels of different sizes, however you must go with wheels that have the same ratios as the stock wheels in that case.

If you are driving an awd car use the manufacturer recommended sizes, its easy to google.
