Game in Columbus:

- A lot of zone time and shots but not enough quality chances. We had a handful of shots in the slot but nobody was even close to sniping one home, especially Higgins at the end.

- Speaking of Higgins, he didn't make the defensive play on the game-winning goal then totally choked on easy play to tie the game late. I love Higgins but in a year in which we aren't guaranteed a playoff berth like the last couple years, he really needs to finish his chances 'cause we need all the points we can get.

- Really time to put Kassian with the Sedins for a few games and see if something clicks.

- Lack was very good, good enough to win us the game at least (if he had some goal support). Happy with how he's looked in his first two career games.

- Welsh looked decent in the few shifts he got in just his 7th NHL game. 4th line actually looked half useful for once.

What do you guys think about Santorelli? Worth a fantasy pickup for a struggling team?

I don't expect him to keep up with his .75 ppg or whatever it is.

Game on the Island:

- Like Torts said, it was just a mess of a game... wasn't very pretty. Not gonna get into it, just gonna chalk it up to an off game in the middle of a long road-trip

- Booth a healthy scratch, surprisingly. He obviously hasn't been good but I'll take Booth over guys like Weise and Sestito any day. I guess Torts is just trying to send a message and it wouldn't be very loud if he scratched a scrub.

- Hansen injured, might as well tank At least Burrows is somewhat close, maybe he'll play on Monday when we get home from this trip.

- Sauve called up which is rather puzzling considering our 6D guys are supposedly healthy and we have three top-9 forwards injured. Maybe they'll go with 7 D-men again (Torts is not happy with Weber and Alberts).




Luongo vs. Schneider round 2 Thursday, Blues on Friday. Gonna be a tough 2nd second game in a back-to-back situation with travel against a team like STL.

Higgins - Kesler - Booth
Richardson - Welsh - Santorelli
Sestito - Dalpe - Weise

No Hansen or Burrows makes our bottom six look awful. lol

Santorelli will probably get more Sedin time than Kassian

I actually really like our bottom 6 aside from sestito

Richardson just makes me feel better about everything. Loved it from the minute I heard about his signing.
