You said Conor is a disgrace to the sport of mma. Which, although I don't like the guy, is stupid. The 'sport of mma' is a thing because of guys like conor, 'american circuses' like the ufc.

If it wasn't for these tournaments we wouldn't have MMA, everyone would still be doing their respective arts. Japan would be balls deep in Judo. Brazil BJJ. Thailand Muy Thai. America wrestling/boxing. Russia sambo/wrestling, etc etc etc. It's because we got together and started offering money to see which style was superior, that people realized they needed to have a base in all areas to be the best, and thus MMA as we know it now was born, and it has served to help popularize and evolve MA in general.

So without the circus of main stream MMA, martial arts as a whole would still be stuck in the dark ages. These guys aren't money hungry, they are just fighting for money and not some fake honor like you seem to think is still a thing, but was really just made up for stories, legends, movies etc

I mean over 90% of these guys are barely getting paid in main stream promotions... You think the other many MA practitioners world wide dont do it for the love and beauty of art.? LoL

There IS culture AND tradition, whether you like it or not, even in main stream MMA.


And to be clear... The UFC's agenda along side with Conor has been pure cancer.

You said sport of mma. We're not talking about the average MA guy who just does it for, like you said, he likes it. These guys getting garbage pay in small promotions, I would wager 98% of them are doing it with the dream in mind to make a successful financial career out of it.

Sure there's culture and tradition to an extent, but winning and the perks that go with it will ways override it. Like him or not, most fighters would love to be like Conor, and there's a reason everyone name drops him and wants to fight him. To get $$$$

GSP is about as honorable as it gets I would say with what your fantasy ideals are, and he still ain't coming back taking these legacy fights for free.
