Go for portable over powerful i have an asus zenbook and love it

I've had good experiences with Asus, had one that I used for 8 years despite a lot of rough handling and stills works despite being 10+ years old.

vouch for shopping for portability too, I have a Lenovo Think Pad that's otherwise nice but at 15.6" it's pretty unwieldy. so when my workplace offered me a new computer I asked for a 14"... much better.
