Schroeder injured blocking a shot with his foot -_- getting an x-ray this morning so results should be out soon.

Really hope he isn't injured, he's our best option for that open center spot. I really don't understand why a lot of Canucks fans are down on this guy, seems like people dislike him just 'cause he's small. I've also heard people say he can't be our 3rd line center because he's not a good enough checker (and not big enough for it)... but what the hell is Kesler here for?

If we want a real checking line drop Kesler to the 3rd line with Higgins and Hansen and move Schroeder up to a 2nd scoring line. Or just play Kesler's 2nd line vs. top lines and keep Schroeder with Higgins and Hansen.

Schroeder works hard, can pass, can skate, has some skill and is defensively responsible as long as he doesn't have to handle big top centers like Getzlaf, Kopitar, Datsyuk, etc. He needs to be given a real chance.

We're doing the Kesler-Burrows duo right? Probably toss Higgins/Hansen with them.
They'll probably play the minutes against other teams big lines

Sestito scored after not receiving the pass cleanly and fanning on his shot.

Not serious, just soreness I believe. Should be ready for the regular season.

Kassian suspended for 5 regular season games and Weise suspended for the rest of the pre-season but (unfortunately) no regular season games.

Looks like Santorelli will definitely be in the lineup to start the season. With Schroeder out it looks like he and Richardson are battling for the 3rd line spot, which he will probably win leaving Richardson as the 4th line center.

I kind of hope Gaunce sticks with the club but it's probably detrimental to his development to play 5-6 minutes in the NHL instead of 20 or whatever in junior (maybe he gets 9 games along with Shinkaruk because of injuries/suspensions).

Corrado and Gaunce sent down. The former is surprising considering he out-played Weber and Alberts for that #6 spot.

Horvat and Shinkaruk staying up, but likely a temporary thing because Kassian and Schroeder are out.

What I'm hoping for line-up wise:

Without Kassian and Schroeder

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Shinkaruk - Kesler - Booth
Higgins - Santorelli - Hansen
Sestito - Richardson - Weise

Fully healthy

Sedin - Sedin - Kassian
Booth - Kesler - Burrows
Higgins - Schroeder - Hansen
Santorelli - Richardson - Weise

*2C and 3C interchangeable in both lineups.

Our fully healthy line up with a productive Booth looks promising. Kassian really needs to get his shit together though because Kesler and Burrows are amazing together. Sedins need a line mate so badly!
