They uploaded the 2nd half of this morning's scrimmage (not sure why they didn't add the 1st half):




Some stuff that stood out:

Good
- Higgins (hatrick) and Hansen looked great together. They have so much natural hustle so they were like one step ahead of everyone else as the majority seemed like they weren't trying too hard.

- #55 Alex Biega. Don't know who the hell this D-man is but he looked really solid. Took the body and good positioning.

- Luongo wasn't very busy but he made about 3 nice saves and looked confident doing it.

- Edler and Tanev were paired together and looked very solid and comfortable.


Bad
- Tommernes has good puck skills and offensive awareness but he's absolutely lost defensively. Literally stood there in front of the net and watched two goals go in and was out of position numerous times.

- Lack's team was bad but he probably could have kept 1 or 2 of those pucks out.

- Bieksa was terrible but it also seemed like he was fooling around most of the time.

Highlights:




First time seeing the highlights from the first half.... lol Luongo let in a stinker. Nice to see Kesler skating well on that goal but didn't look like the defense was trying much.

Torts making a terrible first impression:


Shinkaruk - Kesler - Burrows
Sestito - Horvat - Weise



Put Horvat with by far the two worst players on our main roster... at least give him a chance to succeed. I know he's not ready anyway, but still.

Probably shouldn't read too much into it but they might be trying to see if Shinkaruk can fill that 2LW spot, at least while Booth is still injured.

(Sedin - Sedin - Kassian already confirmed to be #1 line to start the regular season)

It's preseason, doesn't matter who Horvat plays with really, it wont get him a spot on the team during regular.

Bold makes me very happy.

I trust torts to do the right thing with the young guys though. He's much better with them than AV ever was

But our essentially #2 PP unit is iced and not generating a ton with the advantage
