He's played better for the 'Canes than the Sens, though lol. Defensively, he's always been softer than the Downy teddy bear with a velvet lining. I don't think Murphy has a lot of defensive upside. He's one of those guys that you pair with your most solid shutdown dman in hopes that RM's scoring outweighs what his partner can cover for him.
