Haven't been able to watch
But guessing typical Howard. Probably he team isn't helping him either but the usual
iso trade
Let in 2 wristers from the high slot, his bread-and-butter weakness. One was partial screen, one was completely clear lane. Both beat him on the right side at chest level.
Let in 4 goals in 14 shots and that means 7 on his last 20.
Has lost 5 straight starts and his last win was against a pretty shitty Arizona team on December 3rd. Yet somehow he continues to play 46% of the games. There is obviously something more going on in Detroit than what we are seeing. Why 2 quality coaches would continue to put mediocrity on the ice night after night when they have a superior option sitting on the bench makes no sense to me. Upper management must be trying to showcase Howard as best they can to try to get some moron to take his $5M+ contract away.
5 straight losses, 4 against teams below us in the standings... not looking good for him.
Team can't do much to save him during these games. When you're outshooting a team 24-14 and are down 4-0 to some weak goals I can't blame them for being deflated. They didn't play a good game, but that would have been an OT game most likely with Mrazek in net.... because the Jets didn't play a good game, either.
