Tanev 1.5M / 1 year

Alberts 0.6M / 1 year

Both great signings... will probably be our third pairing to start the season and I'm happy with that :) (unless Corrado looks great at camp)

-----

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Garrison
Alberts - Tanev
Weber - Corrado

Canucks still looking at Murray... I'd put him behind Alberts as our #7

-----

I think we need a rover on defense that can really skate and jump up into the play regularly with real offensive instincts and skill. Ehrhoff kind of played that role when he was here and he was arguably our best D-man over those 2 years.

We have a solid D on paper but IMO we're missing that essential element. Having 4-5 of the same type of D-man is kind of redundant... we need a better mix.

Murray is already signed. garrison can jump up in the play but IDK how much he does it in vancouver...

Oh wut, totally missed that. Where he sign?

He does try from time to time. All our D-men have had the green light to do so.

However, none are really that great offensively. Garrisson has a great shot of course but he's not an offensive guy.

Edler is supposed to be that type of player but he's terribly inconsistent. Don't know if his offensive upside is that high anymore, anyway.

Ehrhoff was an excellent skater who seemed to jump up every chance he had, and did a good job of it too. Unfortunately it's tough to find players who have this ability and aren't defensive liabilities at the same time.

he signed for habs@@

yeah, erhoff was too expensive but he wasn't bad. garrison jumped up later in the season, but he also had brian campbell as partner and i don't think edler is quite at campbells level offensively. he's still pertty new to the league but he's such a good player. i remember i told u guys he was a shut down first guy with a rocket shot and ppl kept saying he was offensive d-man l0l

lol, people just look at goals column and start saying shit without having seen a player play.

He was great for us after expected rust to start. He woulda scored 15 goals in the short season if our coach wasn't a dumbass. He was obviously our best option on the PP but he kept putting Edler our there lawl.

Might not happen this year because Edler - Bieksa could be a disaster pairing but it'd be awesome if we could play Hamhuis - Garrison as our top unit :P They own.

What I gathered on our top prospects from the first rookie camp game (I only got to see the 3rd period but I asked a few friends who watched it all):

Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk
Looked to have developed some nice chemistry. Were definitely the best two forwards on the ice for most of the game. Good all-around offensive skill-set on both.

Jordan Subban
Poised with the puck on the blue-line. Was great at handling it on the power-play.

Nicklas Jensen
Showed some flashes but also some bad plays. Still difficult to see what this guy will turn out to be.

Brendan Gaunce
Pretty much invisible all night.

Joacim Eriksson
Made a lot of saves but I don't know if he was in control a lot of the time. Still got the W, that's what's important :P

Gaunce out, Corrado in today.

Game 2:

Bo Horvat and Hunter Shinkaruk
Not a great game from these two, kind of invisible most of the night. Shinkaruk seemed frustrated by the end.

Jordan Subban
Played well again. Probably my favorite prospect already :D

Nicklas Jensen
Had a better game today, was definitely all over the place. He's active on defense and a decent passer. Only problem is he has Steve Bernier esque finish. -_-

Brendan Gaunce
Didn't play.

Joacim Eriksson
Made some good saves but couldn't keep the Canucks in it when the Flames pushed hard like Calgary's goalie did. Wasn't his fault but lost the goalie battle.

Frankie Corrado
Solid both ways as always.
