Not really though. Enbridge just laid off another 370 last week, and more cuts coming from the other big guys. Unemployment near 10%.

Traffic in Calgary for the morning comute is noticeably better though

I worked as a technician/shop manager for an oilfield services company. Basically repaired/maintained computer equipment that monitors drilling parameters.

Yes I got laid off in March, took the most of the summer off to travel and enjoy some time away from work.



I'm looking into trades right now, I'm not so high on going back to O&G because of the instability.

Oil n gas is hit or miss. Next big boom will be in solar.

Just waiting for you to have your own home and some tradie gonna charge you arm n leg for any work done.

Whats minimum wage in big cities? Calgary/toronto/vancouver etc?
