hakstol is a guy that knows whats up hes used to working with young players and will likely click better when our d prospects start to transition then somebody like berube would

berube was just fucked his decision making was very questionable hakstol is a guy that seems like hes more modern and able to adapt berube was i got this and thats that



Comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges. You have no idea if this coach is going to be good or just as horrible. Berube being bad doesn't make Hakstol a good coach lol

hakstols got a pretty good track record and worked his way up in the coaching world
berube just kinda stuck around because he was an ex flyers player

Im with drago on this one but I dint think a better coach was our real problem I still think the player personnel is not top notch and we still lack at least one or two great defenseman to compete daily.

One thing about Hakstol though is that he can adapt strategy according to his personnel (he is known for making a winning team with some poor talent) so thats what I want to see. But I'm not holding my breath for this season either, I think we're a bubble team at best

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Logan Pyett is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with sarcoma, a form of cancer, in his upper left leg, the Flyers announced Friday.

Pyett, 27, signed a contract with the Flyers' American Hockey League affilliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, on Aug. 21, and he attended training camp with the Flyers. He had spent the previous two seasons playing in the Kontinental Hockey League.

so gudas is like 10x better then schenn :thumbsup:
gagner looked like one of our best forwards at times tonight think hes going to be sticking around
neuvirth looked pretty good obviously as he got the 31 save shutout

Smurf thought on the game now? We saw the team we saw vs tampa again, which leads me to think that this is what we will be most nights. I feel like Mason head wasn't in the game on saturday and thats why we fell behind 4-0 in 10 min.

What scares me is our new coach thought more highly of schenn then gudas? Wtf tape was he watching? Lol

A win is a win but we are still no where near being a competitive team in the eastern conference. The offensive talent on this team is severely lacking and our defense might be better but is still missing that one player that carries most teams. Again we were playing a panthers team that obviously had a letdown after the big 7 goal game.

I'm happy with the win of course but just don't see what's different with this team from last years. I couldn't even tell Berube wasn't the coach. Still early so we will see.

At least the Russian defenseman provides some spark moving the puck up the ice.

You really can't tell a difference? The way dman moves the puck on the play, the way we neutralise team in the neutral zone now. We killed the lightning speed. The way we play more physical. Giroux on the PK. Couts being used in an offensive role.

I can see a ton of change. I think the only thing that makes us a bubble team is that you never know which team will show. But if it's the good flyers, then we can compete vs anyone (1 game, not best of 4)

maybe he felt schenn was the beter option in practices or something hes never really seen them in an nhl game before
schenns not bad hes pretty good defensively and physical but hes too damn slow and he doesnt position himself to take advantage of angles enough
cant tel berube wasnt the coach? only thing that really hasnt changed is the pp and even then he put raffl on it

medvedev looks pretty good and is likely to get slightly better as season goes on
hes not bad defensively he can skate and he makes good offensive decisions with the puck
