Both Drouin and Johansen have lofty expectations but also are both in the perfect position to show who they are capable of being. I'm really excited to see if Drouin can find chemistry with Mackinnon again.

I can't remember the ex GM, I think it was Brian Burke said when he was interviewing him for his draft he couldn't help to think to himself that he would be a GM one day just by how he carried himself at such a young age. He embodies what the avs want to be through and through. I truly hope he's able to overcome the shit he's been dealing with.

The wife and I needed a hit of Avs hockey, so we dropped by practice. It was nice to see the boys out there. Everyone looked quick, passes/shots aren't as crisp yet, as expected. It was Georgie and Annunen tending today.

Love the 3-0 start so far. Rantanen hasn’t missed a beat

Agreed. His shootout goal was so smooth. My takeaways so far:
Georgie last season no fluke. Feel good with him at net. We just need to figure out that back-up goalie situation.
RyJo's faceoff abilities are a breath of fresh air compared to last season. He wins them so clean, just so much less wasted time on PPs and the like.
Miles Wood is fast...holy smokes. Hope he gets a good amount of breakaways this season.

I'm straight up not having a good time fellas.

Drouin seems to be just getting lower and lower on the depth charts. Pretty low risk high reward signing but I was really hoping he'd turn his career around. I haven't been able to watch many games this so I'm not sure if it's just him trying to figure a new system out or if it's effort/talent.
Avs just called up Riley Tufte(which I'm actually low key excited for) and practiced him on the 2nd line with rants and ryjo and bumped drouin to the 4th line.

Also, once again the glass cannons avs are getting injuries early on in the season. Makar and Byram both questionable for tomorrow's games
