Cmacs recent interview to the athletic put a
little light on Landeskog.
- The brutal news came in the form of the team announcing captain Gabriel Landeskog would miss the entire regular season, at the very least, as he finally tries to get right the knee injury that’s kept him out a year already.
“He’s about four months (into his recovery), and he’s doing incredibly well,” MacFarland said. “We miss so much about what he brings, not just in terms of the goals and assists and power play and penalty kill, but just his presence in the room, being one of our emotional-barometer guys.
“He’s going to miss the regular season, and then I wouldn’t bet against Gabriel Landeskog in anything. If there’s somebody that’s going to deal with what he’s dealing with, with the right attitude and determination, it’s him. He’s our Viking.”
So a playoff return, perhaps? Maybe, maybe not.
“We’re hoping,” MacFarland said. “There’s still so much that needs to be gleaned in this so it’s hard to put a timeline on it.”
I honestly didn't think he'd come back after it seemed the first surgery was so botched. I know he's definitely doing everything to come back.
Imagine putting him onto the 3rd line come playoff time, or really any of the top 3 lines.
