[Avalanche] "Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Brian Cole at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. The 30-year-old forward is expected to miss the entire 2023-24 season."

Another former player's (Marc Methot) insight who had the same surgery done with the same doc:

"I had the same surgery performed on my left knee. It’s a brutal rehab process and mine never recovered to a point that made skating at the NHL level possible. However, I do wish him well and hopefully he gets back to playing."

Definitely hoping our Gabe has a better recovery, but at the very least all sides; players, front office, and fans, know what to expect the upcoming season. Gonna miss that "C" on the ice though.

Bottom C and LW and bottom RD are up for grabs through competition
Lots of questions marks in Johansen and Drouin but their contracts are easy to get out of. I'm happy with what Cmac and Sakic were able todo this off-season.

Hunt and JMFJ aren't regulars on a good team, wonder what Sakic & Co. have planned to fill that RD spot.

Dumba on the cheap would be a good get, he may need to take a short term deal to reestablish his value / wait for the cap jump.

They are viable for the regular season, but there is still work that can be done. I think 1-2 forward spots are always open due to cap Constraints. Brings healthy competition atleast
