I know that you meant Read as a base. But teams are asking for Couts. As long as he is in our system, teams will place him top priority for trades.

When it comes to a player like Edler, Couts would be a mandatory. Read pales in comparison to what Couts COULD be and they know that.

Adding Simmonds is too much unless something substantial goes along with Edler.


Maybe Edler + 24th pick for Couturier + 11th pick + mid round pick or something lol

That is what I think would be the asking. It just isn't something that is logical to the Flyers organization going forward though.

Flyers have a shitty prospect pool (like the Canucks). Not many other assets to trade for Philly :S

Again, i dont think Holmgren will move any of the offensive core. The only assets I can see go is Read, and then any D-man really, picks, etc.
Then again we know Holmgren doesnt care to move important franchise players.

Couturier to the Canucks might actually work out well. Would make Schroeder expendable, decent trade-bait.


Couts would fit in very nicely on the third line (he'd look great with Higgins and Hansen on his wings) then when Henrik is gone, he'll probably be ready for the 2nd line slot and Gaunce will be ready to be the new 3rd C.






Philly would be out a center though. I wonder if they've considered Coburn for Gagner, straight up. Edler would replace Coburn, Gagner replaces Couturier.
