Yeah this is really getting concerning they havent signed yet. Training camp is just over a month away...

It'll happen before Worlds, I'm pretty sure. Today his agent says he won't negotiate during worlds, but that's totally obvious. Then the Score makes a big post with the clickbait headline "Gaudreau won't negotiate... (during world)" as if there's a controversy there.

Just get him signed, or the Worlds will be super stressful.

I dont understand the management mentality. They gave Bouma a cool 4.5 for a maybe physical 2nd liner and wont just give Gaudreau/Monahan whatever they want. Even if they sign @ 8M/7M which I feel is a bit high for both of them, it's still going to be worth it in 2 years when they are in their prime.

Well the constant rumour, coming from everywhere, including Roger Millions, seems to be that Monahan will sign anything. Gaudreau, however, wants a shorter term. Like, really short term. It's a bit scary. Monahan has said he's been trying to talk Gaudreau into staying a long time, but ultimately I think this all means we definitely wont see an 8 year contract with Johnny. I don't think Treliving won't open his wallet, instead he's busy trying to lock Johnny up for longer than he wants right now.
