I thought the league did,
and when the bruins does it to other teams, it's who cares?

maybe if the bruins didnt do it to every other team and then dive around the ice like its a swim meet the league would care

Dave Cameron just informed us that Jared Cowen has received a 3-game suspension.

Fucking stupid, 2 minutes and Thornton jumping Cowen and it should have ended with that

And the call was interference, it was a bit late but that's really it... Not 1 good angle showing the headshot. Arm was down, Cowen is just tall

Contact was made with the torso then the shoulder caught a bit of the chin..

Some made a good post on HfBoards :

" When Jokinen passed the puck it took a total of 600 milliseconds until he was hit by Cowen.

Heres some pics to show you:

The NHL states this:
UPDATE: A league source provided explanation into the department of player safety’s ruling. Using the NHL’s software, the source said, the league had the hit timed at 0.467 seconds after the puck left Pacioretty’s stick. That puts the hit under the NHL standard of 0.5 seconds for a late hit and well below the 0.6-0.7-second threshold the DOPS uses to determine whether late hits warrant supplementary discipline.

So if we go by that, Cowen was in the second threshold, whatever that means. He was .1 second late, it wasnt "WAY" late like a lot of you are saying. "

So yeah, the suspension is a complete joke and I would be really mad if the Sens were still competing for a playoffs spot and Cowen was a usefull player.

yes it's a complete joke but so are so many other suspensions. seems like they really don't know what it's like to be on the ice even if they are old players

It was a hair late, but late nonetheless. A penalty would have sufficed. Ridiculous suspension, this league...
