Apparently Mark Jankowski is crushing the development camp so far (his 5th) Jay Feaster's revenge.

He could be the 4th C this year if Stajan gets moved to a wing. And with Tkachuk probable to make it, the team could be significantly younger for another year in a row too.

Would be a nice story if he can actually become a decent NHLer, but it's expected that an almost 22 year-old college player looks good at prospect development camp.

Same story for our 22 YO college player Stecher right now.

He only went pro at the end of last year, and scored 6 points in 8 games with the Flames' affiliate, so who knows. It's graduation time for him anyway, so might as well test him out. The flames just dumped forwards Colborne, Hudler, Jones, Jooris (maybe), so there are many jobs to be had.

Feaster was fired for some combination of the O'Reilly sheet and Jankowski pick, so it'll be entertaining if one of those failures actually works out.

He picked our lord and savior Johnny Gaudreau though. The King in the North.

Any clue what's taking so long? $ or term? Both are proven top liners and Calgary has a fair amount of cap space, plus a lot of defenseman money coming off the books after this season to sign Bennett and Ellott to extensions.

Lock that top-six down, Treliving.

Here's a piece on it, posted less than an hour ago: http://flamesnation.ca/2016/7/18/gaudreau-and-monahan-not-signed-yet-don-t-panic-it-s-complicated

Some thoughts are Monahan's agent (represents Stamkos and Iggy) is a shark, and that both players may want their contracts to expire slightly before the other, to cash in on their next deal. It'll get done, they both want to be here, and they have a serious bromance (Gaudreau: "I want to play with Monahan my whole career").

Yeah man, I just got back from a hike in the BC/Alberta back country. People really under estimate how fast grizzlies can move, I had to harp on the people I was with to have the bear spray on the outside of their pack.
