Trump's withdrawal from the deal is absolutely awful. He just doesn't appreciate how brainwashed the Iranian populace (not just their government) is in their hatred of Israel and aspiration to go nuclear, and how painstaking it was to bring the Ayatollah to the table. Iran is already a major geopolitical threat without nuclear weapons (obviously unlike North Korea), while other major powers might not join into re-upping sanctions. The chokeslam sanctions in 2012-2016 were exactly to get a deal in the first place. And even if the Iranian economy keeps doing bad the population won't blame their government, since they were actually playing along. The only people pleased politically are the Israeli hawks who want any excuse to rock out their guns, and the Iranian government itself because now they can go back to blaming America and Israel for everything bad happening in Iran for the next while.

Good for Alberta tho, crude has been trending up hard over the past month.
