You are waiting 8 months because it is a precautionary check. If it was more serious, you sure as fuck wouldn't be waiting 8 months.

If you want to dunk on the Canadian system thats fine, but at least complain about legitimate issues. Prioritizing a low risk person behind higher risk cases sounds exactly like what our system should be doing.

That’s exactly what I’m saying though GSG. This is a legitimate issue. While I wait 8 months cause of ridiculous wait times in our universal system, it puts me and others at risk while I wait for a potential surgery. Or my condition may deteriorate. I’m fortunate enough to be in good health but couldn’t imagine what others that may be worse off are feeling.

E/ also, you are assuming it’s precautionary! I have a long history of skin cancer in my family. And I’ll admit I’ve been negligent in getting myself looked at yearly. Who knows what could be lurkin in my body right now lol

i live in a small city with almost a month long wait time for a regular dr app and no walk in clinics
the doctors in my city volunteer for the ER and pretty much say if it cant wait a month go to the ER

it not the best system but it does work but i can see how in bigger cities this could really fuck the system up and overflow it

Even in a big city it’s a 2 week+ wait to book in with my GP.
And then to top it off. If I book an appointment for let’s say 1pm. I’ll show up at 12:50. I’ll sit in a waiting room until 3:30-4pm. Before I get admitted to a room. And then another 10min wait on top of that.
All for a 1pm dr appointment booked 2+ weeks in advance.

yeah there isnt enough doctors even mine is like 60 shes getting so old she probably shoulda retired but if she does like 1/3 my city is doctorless
like i went there the one explained something to her sent me for xrays of my bone ... before we even started with less explanation the xray guy told me what he thought it was

and tbh his diagnosis seemed way more accurate then hers its a torn tendonor muscle but she sent me for a hip xray of my bone
i get a call 2 weeks later xrays results are good hip still hurts but i gotta call and wait another month for an app to find out the actual problem?

i just go to the ER they actually find the problem and get it fixed in like one day and you are on your way it might be taxing on the system but around here its what works

plus to even get the xrays done i gotta go to the hospital ER and wait in the ER waiting room... might as well just go to the ER and skip the 1 month wait right?
