Few notes on our new prospects:
Evgeni Svechnikov - Big forward, great skater, crazy quick release. Needs work outside the offensive zone but looking at his videos, he's fantastic at finding space where almost none exists. Very patient on the puck, almost Datsyuk level patience, great at protecting while he finds a position to shoot from. Could be a great top-6 shooting winger, he has also gotten some experience playing center and could continue transitioning to that role.
Vili Saarijarvi - Defenseman, faster than Darren Helm

was unbelievable at the U18 tourney this year, and models his play after Duncan Keith. He's small but Hakan wanted him because he comes off as a very smart player. Size will be a factor though since he's 5'9". Has PP QB instincts and is a right handed shot.
Joren Van Pottelberghe - 1.25 GAA in 15 games in U20. Decently big but not Bishop big. Apparently he was supposed to be the clear cut starter for his Junior A team, but the only goalie for the Junior B team got injured and no other goalie was young enough to take his place. Andersson thinks other scouts may have taken that to think he wasn't good enough to play the higher competition when really it was a matter of circumstance, and that led to him falling to round four.
Chase Pearson - Forward who sounds like he'll be a project but is determined and has good work ethic. Willing to get into dirty areas and crash the net. Good size, could stand to put weight on. From what I hear it sounds like he has potential to play a Holmstrom role, park in front of the net and put in rebounds but he's bigger so he can screen well. Committed to the University of Maine so it may be a couple years before he even hits anyone's radar.
Patrick Holway - D, good at everything but not necessarily spectacular at anything. A well rounded player who needs experience at a higher level before they even think about him. Also committed to Maine so I think Detroit wants to see his first year, then they'll decide whether to pursue him. Described as a big guy (6'4") who can skate and has good hockey sense.
Adam Marsh - Quick, hell of a shot, weak in the defensive zone. 20 goals and 24 assists in 60 games for st johns which is pretty damn good for a 7th round pick. Wings were surprised he stuck around that long, started talking about him in the 5th and almost took him in the 6th. Seems self aware, as he specifically pointed out in his interview that he knows he needs a lot of work defensively. Obviously there's a reason why he fell to the 7th but I can't find it, don't get your hopes up too much.
