hes got like a 9.5 million qualifying offer hes just going to sit back and wait for them to tender or let him walk to UFA only way i see him signing an extension if its 9+million and long term
thats why the hawks traded him they didn't want to commit that kind of $$ to keep him and they knew this was coming and trading him would be much harder when they were in the position ottawa is in right now

honestly think ottawa is going to have to suck it up and QO and keep him or take quite a bit less then they paid for him to move him don't see a lot of teams in on him with the situation
hell there might even be a pretty good chance they let him walk and you can offer him as a UFA if the rumor is true they don't wanna pay him either why offer anything?
