Draft plan is simple

If Hanifin, Strome or Marner is there at 7 for w-e reason, you pick him

If not, draft Provorov

If he isn't there, draft BPA which would be a forward, I'm hoping for Barzal, even though we didn't interview them

why add another center?like do you watch the same team as me? we have 100 centers already
if we draft a forward at 7 its likely crouse or rantanen who are wingers
i really dont like crouse he doesnt seem that special and his production is super low for a top 10 pick pick and idk much about rantanen

i think a d man if the safer bet...even if its not hanafin or provorov werenski seems like a good pick too

First, because you dont draft players with immediate team needs. You go BPA and to me its Barzal.

+ we have no winger/center prospects. They're all in the NHL and nothing tells us Barzal would end up being center. Plenty of drafted center ends up wingers anyway. And with Barzal, you dont say no to having 2 Giroux on the team

If you end up having too many great centers, you deal with this great problem later. But you dont miss out on great players cause your NHL level "needs" a position. Same reason why we should grab a goalie with our 2nd maybe 3rd. Same reason why we need a dman from the first round. Not all 4 from Morin, Sanheim, Hagg or Ghost will end up playing big time in the league. But I will trust Hextall, his last draft has been amazing, with every player making significant improvements so I am only optimist with all the draft picks that we have.

they have to deal with too many centers as is and look how thats going
hextall pretty much refuses to trade anybody young and here we are with a roster half full of centerman that cant play anything other then center
when your not willing to trade you need to draft by needs and personally i dont mind him not trading specially after hartsy for umburger
and no winger center prospects? we got laughton and cousins for centers and leir looks like he could potentially become an nhler hes lw+we got like 6 centers on the nhl roster already

why do we need to grab a goalie? pretty sure were going to have mason sticking around a while and stolarz looks pretty promising
what we need is forward depth in the system and a top pairing d man we draft a d man at 7 then stock up on forwards imo

i think id rather nab another FA goalie from khl or something then draft one with a 3rd pick 3rd rd goalies... idk man most 2nd rd picks are projected 1st rounders but team are scared of drafting a goalie in the 1st
but a 3rd rd goalie... idk mannn

looking at the mocks and such this jake debrusk guy is all over the place from 20th-29th
hes a lw .. if we grab a d man at 7 he may be a potential 29th pick for us
dennis yan seems to be another guy thats like 30-40 if we take him at 29th prob wouldnt be that suprising

there seems to be some decent looking lws around our 29ths pick...more then d men by the sounds of it
the only real decent sounding d man is kylington becaue hes dropping so far hes projected like 25+ maybe not even in the 1st anymore
if we do grab a forward at 7 he could be a potential pick for our 29 too

so on flyers site they have a thing about the draft
and thers 3 comments ppretty much saying crouse

do you guys want crouse? i feel like hes not a good pick
hes a power forward yes and competes but the guy didnt even go a point per game in junior and dint seem like a to p10 pick for canada at wjc
button and guys say hes not that skilled he basically just really physical... imo he sounds like a bottom 6 guy in the making


i really really hope hes taken before that point or hextall doesnt take him hes like the only guy in top 10 i dont want

I want a goal scorer

Crouse is really intriguing. He has everything you want, then you watch him play and he shows everything you want but then you look at the stats and you're disapointed...

If we want Goal scorers it has to be either Zacha or Crouse, but im not sure they would be BPA. Also, i know drago you hate when I say it, and I dont think it's for the best of this team, but Hextall always said championship teams are built from the D and middle. So we might end up with D or C again.

Barzal is intriguing because it has been said that Philly didnt interview him and then he comes out and say Flyers were the most interested team when he met them...

@drago Crouse could be someone like Nash or Benn, but if he doesnt we could end up with a player like Benoit Pouliot

same here but if u look later in the mocks theres guys projected around our 2nd 1st rounder that put up more points then crouse and sound like better offense guys
button even says crouse isnt the best finisher but he creates offense only good b mack could really say about him is he was the hardest hitter in the WJC

iirc crouse is 17 the guys got potential sure but in a deep draft like this theres guys that seem more of a sure thing then crouse.. i wasnt even really a fan at the wjc he was a 4th liner too
barzal sounds interesting i think if hanafin provorov and werenski are taken hex might go for somebody like barzal or zacha and grab a d man with our later pick ...saw b mack said oliver roy with our 29th

Barzal had like 5 goals he doesn't shoot the puck. We need a scorer lol
