Awful contract. Injury prone player. Depletion of depth on defense. He is 32.

Buying at an all time high. Regression in his play or suffering another injury is the most likely scenario.

SJ is looking for draft capital, so i doubt they'll be content with just 1 pick. Would have to be a minimum of 2 1sts.

Although EK's contract is awful, at least he's playing up to his contract right now. Unlike OEL's contract lol.

His contract ends when he is 36 which isn't bad for defensemen. As long as EK stays healthy, i think it's fine.

Especially when we get to witness EK playing with McD together, if McD could get Norris Nurse paid, I honestly can't imagine EK doing worse than OEL even if he declines and isn't playing insane rn.

Poolparty is a cap dump, who cares about their 2 1sts if they have a chance to win the cup, we've seen McD carry the team on his back, and so has EK. EK is still superior player to Barrie, and Bourgault is great and all, but if EK can make Canes and Bruins work for it, it'd be worth giving up imo

I wonder if they might go for it because they think they might lose Mcdavid in a few years if they don't improve. They might just do it to try to keep him later on even if it's gonna screw them up harder long term.
