They would retain and/or send cap space back

If you're trading for Karlsson and needing to give up extra for cap space, not many teams can do that

They can, every team has inefficient contracts they can offload. Sj goal is to get 3 1sts and offload his hefty contract since they won't contend anytime soon with ek. They wouldn't mind taking back bad contracts if their contracts end sooner than 4 yrs at 11.5m.

Like an example with loloilers would be their 3 1sts, poolparty & idk ceci? For Karlsson retained.

Also always an option for 3 way trade etc.

Yeah, it's sj asking price. Highly doubt any teams would pay that though. Although it may sound easier to give up 2 1sts since they started high at 3

Do the oilers need Barrie if ek is there? Maybe he's the one going back instead of ceci. I don't think oilers will end up trading for him
