ALfie, Foligno, Michalek, Karlsson, Spezza and Brian Lee (Yes I said Brain Lee) would be the main core of guys I would keep, I would listen to offers on anybody else.

And Ofc I would draft Larsson and my D-Line next year would be something like:

Karlsson - Rundbladt
Larsson - Gonchar
Cowen - Lee
Carkner

Keep them young, but keep Gonchar and his experience to train the young up and coming defence, if Murray pulls a defence like that, all he has to worry about is finding some scoring. Lehner/Elliott could be our goalies for the season.

Maybe we won't be a contendor right away... but with a young D-Line up like that, we would be skilled on the blue line for a long time to come.
Anyways, these are my thoughts, Lmk if you agree, or disagree lol :P

I wouldn't mind trading him, but think about it, if we did draft larsson, Gonchar's experience would be incredibly valuable for the young guys.

But I would only keep him for another season, not until the end of his contract.

if we end up keeping phillips we could let go of gonchar and still have the vet's experience
better idea, or just do the phillips trade and resign

Yeah we could do that as well, I would trade one or the other honestly. We need a defence with the experience to teach the young guys, even if we don't get Larsson. We will still have Karlsson, Rundbladt, Cowen and even Brian Lee lol. A young defence which could develop to be strong for a long time
