medvedev has over 370 career games in the Kontinental Hockey League under his belt and has been an all-star for Kazan as well has won two KHL titles with Ak-Bars to go along with an appearance for Russia in the 2014 Winter Olympics and gold medal in the 2014 IIHF World Championships.

This isn’t a guy that just crawled out under a rock,” said Hextall, who admitted that he was looking into Medvedev while he was out west as an Assistant GM in Los Angeles. “He’s been a good player for a few years and I know multiple teams have been after him, so this isn’t like we found some gem. He’s been a well-known player.”

they say he can potentially be in our top 4

We’re going to have to look into something, you mentioned that we have a logjam, and we’re going to have to look to move somebody. Obviously [with] Evgeni we felt that it was a real solid upgrade for us on defense so it was something that we couldn’t [let] go by, but yes something will have to give here.”

Don’t expect one of those players to be Michael Del Zotto, who Hextall said that he expects to be on the Flyers roster next season and initial conversations with his agent have taken place.

good too see hes workin on delzotto but ifwe sign him... jeez were gonig to need to trade 3-4 d men

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed 6-1, 188 lb LW Radel Fazleev to an entry-level contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Fazleev, 19 (1/7/1996), was the Flyers’ sixth-round selection (168th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He recently completed his second season with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, where he recorded 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points in 71 games. He added four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 17 games during the 2015 WHL playoffs, helping the Hitmen reach the Eastern Conference Final.

Over two seasons with the Hitmen, Fazleev has recorded 23 goals and 53 assists for 76 points in 109 regular season games, while contributing a total of 21 points (7g-14a) in 23 playoff games. He has played both seasons with defenseman Travis Sanheim, who was selected by the Flyers in the first round of the same draft

Saw him play live a few times when the hitmen were in Cranbrook playing the Ice. Seems alright
