As die hard fans, who live and breathe this hockey team, we read blogs, we monitor the cap situation, we analyze the system but what we often forget is that these guys are more than hockey players. Their impact on the city doesn't stop when the final horn sounds.

For the past eleven years, #12 has given back to the Ottawa community. He has been a difference maker both on and off the ice. As the honorary chair at Roger's House, Fisher has helped make a difference in the lives of countless young people and been exactly the type of role model you would hope a professional athlete would be.

I admire the courage Murray showed in making a deal like this one because I know it wasn't an easy decision.

The Senators organization will miss Mike Fisher. The city of Ottawa will too.
