First God of War game I've owned (played the others but not much). I've just been crazy impressed with the combat, chaining abilities together is pretty seamless and while you absolutely mash buttons it feels like you're somewhat in control. I decided (for some fucking reason) to play on the 2nd highest difficulty and I probably wiped 40 times the first boss fight and the first time you fight a draugr (champ mob basically) but I've finally figured it out. Since then I've made pretty decent progress, theres a ton to do both in terms of the main quest and random ass side quests/dungeons to clear. I always like wandering doing random side areas so that's been pretty sweet. The puzzles are decently challenging aswell.

No not at all. They completely re-vamped the combat from what I can tell and story-wise you arent missing anything because this one is based far in the future from the previous games.
