I think it was the owner of Caps or Stars? They own an eSports team and said eSports league will be bigger than the NHL in 5+ years

Caps owners is part owner of an esports org w/ Shaq

ya that what i meant
doublelift was carrying hard in the semi finals on saturday, while this shit happened friday night.
he didnt really have a good relationship with his parents either, kicked him out of the house when he was 16 cuz he wanted to pursue pro gamer lyfe, rather than go to school.
the risk paid off, he made 140k in tournament earnings & is one of the few progamers earning top salary on top of it, also esports grew hugeee w/ all these NBA owners investing into it etc.
at least he & parents made up couple years ago before this tragedy happened. Sucks he gotta deal with his bro now, cuz he looked up to him and stuff.

viewership wise, i think they're already much bigger than NBA,NHL,NFL etc.

yeah, but the least popular pros still make 100k a year which isn't bad either.
the top ones make closer to 7 figures

Yeah esports being worldwide really helps, I mean yeah you have people all over the world who watch NHL, but the gaming fanbase is much bigger, then when you put the best of the best on a world stage event you have millions of people following it

I still wouldn't, I think it's also a skill to be able to play like 18hrs a day for almost the entire year & longer. Seems like these dudes don't touch the game only when they're sleeping, some play while eating too.
I get burnt out playing a game for 1hr, so Idk how these guys can play non stop and do scrims, matches without being burnt out so soon. Probably gotta really love the game and have a good sitting posture w/ insane amount of positive mentality. I mean if I decided to suck it up and go all in this season, and i still didn't end up making the finals... I'd feel mentally drained and the grind was for nothing and expect to try again.

If they're like ex pro gamers that became a full time streamer, they make a ton. Shroud seems to get like 10k+ in donations daily w/O counting his subs and viewer ad pays. Immaqtpie makes millions a year for streaming, hence his reason not wanting to return to pro scene. Makes more, no strict schedule, has more time to do other shit etc. Crazyy
Ofc pros can make a lot too, but they don't have the time to stream that many hours cuz they're busy w/ team meetings, advertisements, scrims, practice, etc.

Yea. Let me rephrase. I’d rather be a pro streamer.
Gaming for Tournies would be fun. But some of these YouTube guys...jake Paul. And Logan Paul etc Get paid millions to do absolutely nothing
