If you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to eat out

at 17$ minimum wage you don't need too

waitresses make under minimum wage and get taxed on a % sales, some can lose money on you if you don't tip

Like 2$ back from minimum wage. They also don’t claim tips at tax time. And if you were to factor in their tips to their hourly wage, they are making in the range of 30-35$ an hour! And those figures are back from when I was serving tables back in 2006-2008. When minimum wage for us was around 7$ an hour.

I tip 15-20% when I go out... I dont really like the idea of tipping, I personally think they should increase wages and increase cost of food if they need to make the difference up.

Right now, there are waitresses who make crazy $$$ and it's all tax free. I personally know of a friend's GF who makes $400-500 on average a night, all of which is tax free. She also collects a wage ontop of that.
