yup I agree, I don't think making it legal will change much

but should you make something legal that can harm children/teens, if there is all of a sudden an increase in cases of teens developing mental illness because of weed it will fall on the govt hands because it is now a legal product, as to now people will blame police/parents and bad drug dealers

jokes? govt loves that shit they make bank off all those anti psychotic pills they sell you

Rural areas and towns will see increase I would imagine, but I don't imagine it would develop into a crisis or anything close

ya i realized my view is probably skewed by being in the city.

At least now the proceeds from the market will be available to be used for mental health research, recovery policing etc instead of funding OC/ gangs etc.

I'm not opposed to stricter youth laws higher ages etc. but i think allowing a huge market to go untaxed when our policing efforts have already failed is redundant

yeah the documentary i watched was about that there is a chance weed triggers stuff like that early but only if the person already has it and they couldnt even prove it its just a theory
unless they have proven it since but i havnt seen anything about it and i feel like that would be everywhere if it got proven

legalizing it either does 2 things
1. makes your local dealers go cheaper and nothing changes except the price of your bud
2. local dealers quit because there is no money in it and its harder for kids to get since you need to buy from dispensaries
its all about how they price it imo

makes dealers change to coke and meth

local dealer wont just quit and find a job at the grocery store

My dealer has told me that the prices of illegal bud will be cheaper than the legal stuff. Which makes sense, just a matter of if its still profitable for dealers. But lets be real here, anyone dealing marijuana isnt making crazy money. The advantage is you basically get your weed for free and make a little bit on the side.

Part of the issue is that it is considered a Class 1 drug in the US, which makes it insanely hard and time consuming to receive the correct permits to do any type of medical testing. Once it's legal both here and in the US we will be able to see more studies which show the dangers. I know of two family friends who were daily smokers during developmental years (16-20) and ended up developing schizophrenia. Personally I think it's dangerous to the developing mind, but like I said there isnt much research to support one way or the other.
