im guessing it's just their educated guess based on JR being trade buddies back when he was with Pittsburgh. Although it doesn't make much sense without getting any RHD or picks back for Miller.

One is a former second-round pick from 2019 who was a 55-goal scorer in junior and someone who has terrible luck as a pro. -basically guy hasnt had a season without an injury and seems to have "terrible luck" -sound injury prone as fuck to me
amirov playing in the vhl/khl and "battling for ice time"and hasnt looked that impressive anywhere hes played stat wise his only good stat lines are in the MHL which idk what league that is so i take "battling for toi" as not good enough to earn it

seems like a HUGE reach for a potential trade imo they are both still young and could turn out to be very good players but as is they dont seem that impressive to me
the article writer just seems like a leafs fan that wants to get jt miller tbh

That's the beauty of miller's contract. Can retain up to 2.6m cap which is less than kerfoot 3.5m. But ya, still doesn't make any sense for the Canucks to do that trade lol
