I honestly thought it would get called backed.
the rules state "distinct kicking motion".
Maybe it was not quite distinct but he did do more than just angle his skate/leg on that play.
Usually those are called more on the side of caution with the majority of 'close calls' favoring the no goal column.
I would certainly consider that lucky on the Canucks end. Maybe it is the hockey gods smiling after those two posts were hit earlier.
