Some people were getting mad at jbell and pens for doing stuff without a vote. Then some people wanted a vote and were saying it used to be a democracy. If it's only the trusteds and meds voting it's more of a republic. If the hockey forum has the same method of promoting actives to trusted and med as the nfl/nba/MLB forums, then meds and trusteds are voted on by themselves. So that's not really a republic either.

Bb Mello says that even bringing up prone for removal is retarded. What is actually retarded is not having a welcher paid back status. Why did it take so long to get it this far? People who welched and paid back are seen as the same as welchers on the hockey list. Whether they payed back the 50 fg they welched or welched 2k and never showed their face here again, they show up the same on the list. That absolutely has to change.

People who welch in other forums are sometimes placed on the hockey welcher list. Which of course makes sense. Have to protect our forum from that type of risk. But a record should be kept of every single welch and welch payed back. If that's already being done then good.

Welcher for life despite paying back simply makes no sense. It's a stone age policy. Welcher paid back often carries the same stigma but it's far less of a bad label to a lot of people. Myself included. I will not bet with welchers but I will bet with wpb. In hockey there are no wpbs so people who did pay back are missing out on potential bets and games.

One mistake/bad decision and you're forever a welcher. If the rules are changed to allow for a wpb status then that is slightly better. People learn from their mistakes. People change. I'm not sure I'd advocate for the possibility to get removed off the welcher list and work your way to active, but simply saying it can never happen is the wrong approach. When did welching pixels become unforgivable?

Logs of every single addition to the list have to kept. We need to be able to back up our list with facts and evidence.

And i think if possible a tag history feature (like bnp has) would be great.

I think welchers should always be branded in someway. There are alot of welchers i trust but a nee comer should be able to decide for themselves with all the information we can give them.

Welcher paid back just increases the accuracy of that information.

Also meds/ trust should vote

I've got a question for you guys...

Why have Actives at all? Now, dont get me wrong I'm not knocking the list by any means so please dont take it that way. But the way the hockey forum has operated, Active is exceptionally hard to get and you have to be active for multiple seasons. That being said why dont we just remove the Active all together and just have Welcher/Trusted/Meds? This makes the list easier for Jbell to maintain and removes a lot of the drama surrounding people getting active tags or not. Just a thought, I've been around here a long time and never fully understood why the active tag operates the way it does here. If others disagree with me that's fine, I just know this forum has seen a lot of overturn recently and making the list easier to operate wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
