Ya it is absolute bullshit imo. They always gouge one way or the other.
They were recently involved in a price fixing scam that they eventually settled by giving out $25 gift cards to people who bought price gouged bread for years.
I don't want to target Loblaw specifically as I figure every major grocery chain is involved in this type of shenanigans. Years ago when I worked at Save On Foods retail they would temporarily raise prices of items significantly for a few weeks and then drop them back to normal prices but advertise the products as being on sale....
The amount we pay for food is bordering on criminal.
