honestly he could have called a dive and a trip and it would be fine and the goal wouldn't have gone in.

when you fall backwards, do your feet always almost touch your head? Somehow that happens here lol

When someone is moving 6 feet per second, sweeping your legs out from under you when you have your back turned to them, on skates, will damn near flip you. You must never have played real contact hockey to know first hand.

that can happen if it's a leg... not a stick that weighs like 300 grams

at the same time of the "leg sweep", acciari leaned back for a reverse hit. thats what caused the extra momentum, not a dive

whatever play you are referring to im sure i was up in arms about it at the time, but i cant remember exactly.
But im just saying its fairly rare that missed calls result directly in goals, generally they are caught, or do not directly result in a goal.
I've said it before, officiating this year has been leaps and bounds worse than recent years.

And thats my point about basketball, its such soft rules that inflate the score dramatically.
Im not comparing the act of missing a call, im comparing how much effect the ref(s) have on the game,
The refs are involved in one way or another on the vast majority of plays in a basketball game, where as in hockey there are generally around 6 to 7 penalties called per game.
Yes, the refs can miss calls (obviously) and some times they lead to game changing results, but they generally do not. The footprint the refs have on an NBA game (enforcing its soft rules) is much greater than the NHL.

^^^^thats the play that at the time had me really confused about this sport.

We could go on and on with the basketball argument but ultimately I BELIEVE that the better team wins 9 times out of 10 in PLAYOFF basketball regardless of officiating
